Jennifer Rene Psaki was an American political adviser who was the 34th White House press Secretary between 2021 to 2022. A part of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) as well as the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011); the spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013-2015); and the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki worked as a CNN political contributor from 2017 and 2020. Psaki began her professional career in 2001 with the re-election campaigns of Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki then became deputy press secretary for John Kerry's presidential campaign. Psaki also served as communications director for Joseph Crowley (U.S.) as well as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was back in the political arena in 2012 and was the press secretary for President Obama's 2012 campaign. 20 years ago, Psaki was appointed the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. [20] There was speculation that Psaki would replace Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, in the Department of State.[21However, Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30 in 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to become the communications director. She was a part of the Obama administration until the end of its term.
